Boris Bidjan Saberi

Boris Bidjan Saberi was founded in 2007 in Barcelona by German-Iranian designer Boris Bidjan Saberi, who studied at the Esmod fashion school in Munich. The brand's premise from the first collection was uncompromising: hand-treated leather, draped jersey, distressed cottons, and silhouettes that read as the kind of garments worn by an imagined apocalyptic monk-warrior. Each piece is heavily individualised — leather is hand-dyed in batches of one, jerseys are washed in different baths, denim is treated with concrete and salt. The Saberi vocabulary settled around a few core obsessions: technical-fabric outerwear hand-finished to look as though it's been worn for a decade, draped layered jersey with the recurring use of metallic chains and toggles, slim deconstructed denim, and the brand's increasing engagement with sneaker collaborations (the long-running Boris Bidjan Saberi × Salomon partnership has produced some of the most-resold technical-sneaker collaborations of the past decade). The brand operates from a Barcelona atelier where Saberi continues to hand-finish individual pieces. Saberi runs a single flagship store in Barcelona's El Born district plus a Paris boutique. Sales are deliberately limited and most products are sold direct from the brand's website to a deeply committed customer base. Few designers have so completely committed to artisanal individualisation at the avant-garde luxury tier.
