Blacklist & red flags
Services that have shut down, absconded, or been seized by customs — plus the warning signs to watch for.
Original domain haidaibao.com lapsed and is now a squatted unrelated site; rebranded to 'Haizhong' around 2021, closed all lines from May 2022, and flagged as absconded on community blacklists. No longer operational.
Founded 2014 on a 'tax-inclusive' model that relied on smuggling via false / under-declaration; entire shipments were seized by customs and the company folded in 2016 — the textbook cautionary tale of 'too-cheap tax-inclusive' lines.
Veteran US-route forwarder (est. 2013). Caught in an early-2023 customs-smuggling case — staff detained, bank accounts frozen, the owner vanished; hundreds of UK-route parcels were stranded. Its site ipehua.com now returns a 404.
Run by the same owner as Penghua (Shenzhen AoTian, est. 2014). Raided by customs over smuggling in January 2023 and abruptly shut down, with parcels handed off to other forwarders. Its domain ats-ex.com no longer works.
US-route forwarder that posted a closure notice in January 2023 and shut down by month's end — it handed its warehouse to another operator then folded. Membership fees were lost and the site was taken down.
- ⚑Suspiciously cheap 'tax-inclusive': far-below-market duty-free lines often rely on smuggling via false declaration — one inspection can mean seizure, back-taxes, or destruction of the whole shipment.
- ⚑Large prepaid top-ups or high deposits — a classic pre-abscond signal. Prefer pay-per-order / pay-on-delivery services.
- ⚑Frequent rebrands or domain changes — often used to shed an old brand's complaints. Check the operating entity and its track record.
- ⚑No verifiable physical warehouse address, or an obviously fake one.
- ⚑A spike in community complaints, and support that's unreachable or only responds in chat groups.
- ⚑Very new with no traceable history — the bar to enter forwarding is low, so favor established, sizable operators.
