Klipsch’s Heritage loudspeakers are iconic and the pinnacle of the American audio brand’s offerings. Each loudspeaker pairs its signature horn-loaded designs with a beautifully crafted cabinet. And all are manufactured in Hope, Arkansas.

This Heritage line dates back to 1946 with the original Klipschorn, which is still in production today (albeit, with modern updates). But over the decades, Klipsch has added several other models to its Heritage series, including the Heresy (’57), Cornwall (’59), La Scala (’63), Forte (’85) and Jubilee (2022).

To date, the Heresy has been the smallest (and most affordable) loudspeaker in Klipsch’s Heritage series. But it’s a compact floor-standing loudspeaker, and it’s still quite large.

Now, as part of the brand’s 80th anniversary celebrations, Klipsch is introducing the first bookshelf speaker to its famed Heritage line.

The Klipsch Rebellion is a premium pair of passive bookshelf speakers that are based on Paul W. Klipsch’s original 1958 design for the H8 speakers, of which only 16 were made. Like the rest of the Heritage series, the Rebellion will be exclusively made in Hope, Arkansas.

The speakers will be available in four premium finishes, including American Walnut (shown throughout this article).

The Rebellion is a two-way speaker that “elevates Paul W. Klipsch’s original design” with a highly efficient K-702 tweeter mounted to a K-703 Tractrix Horn. This is paired with the new K-81-EP woofer.

Finally, for the first time, Klipsch has given a loudspeaker a custom-designed rear Tractrix flare port, which is designed to help the speaker deliver cleaner, more powerful bass.

Klipsch claims that the Rebellion delivers “immersive, low-distortion sound with deep bass and crystal-clear highs from a compact cabinet.” And the pair is ideal for two-channel stereo setups or integrated as part of a larger home theater system.

At the time of writing, Klipsch has yet to reveal more detailed specs for the Rebellion. Expect those closer to its official release.

The Rebellion bookshelf speakers are designed to fit the company’s existing KS-24 speaker stands, which to date have been designed for its Reference and Reference Premiere models. They come in two heights, 24- or 28-inches, and start at $475/pair.

Like many of its other Heritage speakers, Klipsch will offer the Rebellion in two standard finishes: American Walnut and Black Ash. Each will come with magnetic black cloth grilles.

Additionally, Klipsch will offer the Rebellion in a third, limited-edition finish: Tigerwood. There’s no word on how many they’ll make or if they’ll be more expensive.

Like the rest of the Heritage series, the Rebellion will be hand-built in the company’s Hope, Arkansas, facilities.
