The term “super shoe” used to specifically relate to a niche class of running shoes built for high-performance race environments.

Now, as supercritical foams become more common, daily trainers are getting the super treatment.

The latest entry to Saucony’s long-running Triumph franchise, the Triumph 24, is the latest everyday workhorse to get refined with a highly technical upgrade.

Already engineered for comfort over long miles, the Triumph 24 takes things to a new level, thanks to the addition of supercritical foam … and additional upgrades.

In production since 2007, the Triumph is Saucony’s flagship neutral daily training shoe.

Over the years, Saucony has iterated on the platform, and more recently, the respected running brand has pushed it into “super” training shoe territory, thanks to an investment in lightweight yet incredibly responsive foams.

For its latest revision, the Triumph 24 has been taken to the next level, courtesy of the brand’s new incrediLUX foam, a super-critically foamed ATPU blend that gives the shoe more cushioning and bounciness underfoot while simultaneously cutting weight.

The Triumph drops significant weight compared to its predecessor, going from 10 ounces to 8.8 ounces for a men’s size 9 pair.

The Triumph 24’s new foam is complemented by a breathable comfort mesh upper with a roomier toebox, as well as an XT-900 carbon rubber outsole that delivers traction and grip.

The stack height is increased as well, jumping to 43 mm in the heel and 33 mm in the forefoot.

There’s a 10-dollar price increase, too, but the super daily trainer still sits well below the $200 benchmark, which massively differentiates it from the typical $250 to $300 super shoe price range.

By combining a realistic price point with a legacy nameplate and its sterling brand reputation, Saucony has delivered a compelling daily driver with more to love than ever.

Availability and pricing

The Triumph 24 is available now on Saucony’s website, retailing for $170.
