D-Antidote

Founded
2014
Founder
Park Hwan Sung
D-Antidote was founded in 2014 in Seoul by Korean designer Hwan-sung Park as a contemporary luxury menswear brand specifically focused on what Park described as 'a deliberately-deconstruction-and-streetwear-hybrid vocabulary anchored to contemporary Korean youth culture and broader East-Asian fashion-week-aesthetic positioning.' The brand has been one of the defining post-2014 Korean-anchored 'street-luxury-deconstruction' menswear brands. The D-Antidote vocabulary settled around several recurring elements: deconstructed cotton-and-wool tailored separates with deliberately-streetwear-hybrid construction, hand-printed silk and cotton shirts with deliberately-conceptual graphic-motif references, the brand's iconic technical-fabric outerwear with deliberately-experimental hardware-and-strap construction, deconstructed denim with deliberately-asymmetric proportional construction, and a colour palette anchored to washed-black, oxblood, ecru, washed-charcoal, plus the brand's recurring use of saturated red, electric-blue, and the iconic East-Asian-fashion-week aesthetic colour combinations. The brand has presented at Seoul Fashion Week each season since 2015. The brand is independent and held by Park. D-Antidote operates flagship retail in Seoul (Hannam-dong — the brand's home neighbourhood) plus international wholesale through SSENSE, MATCHES, Dover Street Market, GR8, the Boontheshop network in Seoul, Lane Crawford, and a curated set of contemporary-luxury-menswear specialty retailers globally. The brand has been one of the more quietly disciplined post-2014 Korean-anchored 'street-luxury-deconstruction' brands, with the deliberately-Korean-youth-aesthetic-meets-East-Asian-fashion-week positioning specifically anchoring the brand inside the broader contemporary 'Korean-luxury-streetwear-export' conversation.
