Mr. BATHING APE is the deliberately-tailored-menswear sub-line of A Bathing Ape (BAPE), the legendary Tokyo streetwear brand founded in 1993 by NIGO. The Mr. BATHING APE sub-line was launched in 2010 as the brand's deliberately-tailored-aesthetic sub-brand, with the main A Bathing Ape line serving as the broader streetwear-and-graphic-anchored offering. Mr. BATHING APE specifically focuses on contemporary-luxury tailoring with deliberately-BAPE-graphic-and-typography integration. The Mr. BATHING APE vocabulary settled around several specific products: deconstructed Italian-mill wool tailored separates with deliberately-BAPE-aesthetic integration (the iconic Mr. BAPE Camo-pattern tailored blazers and BAPE-graphic-anchored tailored separates have been the sub-line's anchoring product programmes), hand-finished cotton-and-linen oxford shirts with deliberately-BAPE-graphic detail, the brand's iconic Mr. BATHING APE coat-and-overcoat programme, deliberately-architectural cotton-and-linen ready-to-wear, and a colour palette anchored to washed-black, washed-navy, oxblood, ecru, plus the brand's recurring use of the iconic BAPE Camo-pattern colour combinations (BAPE Green Camo, BAPE Blue Camo, BAPE Pink Camo, BAPE Yellow Camo) and the broader Mr. BATHING APE tailored-aesthetic accent combinations.
