Numbers Edition

Founded
2016
Founder
Eric Koston, Guy Mariano
Numbers Edition was founded in 2015 in San Francisco by skater Eric Koston (Plan B and Nike SB team-rider) and Guy Mariano (former Girl Skateboards team-rider) as a deliberately-art-anchored skate-deck-and-streetwear brand specifically focused on what the founders described as 'a deliberately-art-and-skate-anchored skate-deck vocabulary anchored to deliberately-numerical-aesthetic graphic-design references.' The brand has been one of the defining post-2015 American-anchored 'art-skate' brands. The Numbers Edition vocabulary settled around several recurring elements: the iconic Numbers Edition skate-deck programme featuring deliberately-numerical-aesthetic graphic-design references (the brand has been continuously focused on deliberately-typography-and-numerical-aesthetic skate-deck-graphic programs), heavyweight cotton tees and hoodies with deliberately-numerical-typography graphic-design references, deconstructed denim and workwear-derived skate trousers, the Numbers Edition team-pro signature deck programme (with deck-signatures from Eric Koston, Guy Mariano, Rodrigo TX, Shane O'Neill, and the broader Numbers team-rider roster), the long-running Numbers Edition × Nike SB and Numbers Edition × Quasi Skateboards collaboration capsules, and a colour palette anchored to washed-black, washed-navy, ecru, oxblood, plus the brand's recurring use of saturated red, electric-blue, butter-yellow, and the iconic 2010s-American-art-skate-aesthetic accent combinations. The brand is independent and held by Koston and Mariano. Numbers Edition operates with no permanent retail of its own, distributing through skate-shop wholesale globally — including Supreme, Slam Jam Milan, Civilist Berlin, FTC, the broader US-and-European skate-shop network, and the Japanese skate-specialty retailers Beams, Ships, United Arrows, and the broader Japanese skate-specialty distribution. The brand has been one of the most rigorously committed post-2015 American-anchored 'art-skate' brands.

Shop Secondhand

Archive and rare Numbers Edition pieces mostly circulate on the resale market. Japanese sites don't ship to China — buy via a proxy like Buyee; most Western sites ship internationally or are reachable with a US/EU forwarder.
