The New York Knicks will celebrate their historic NBA Championship with a parade through Manhattan on June 18th. One former Knick may have already hinted at his footwear plans.
Ahead of the festivities, Allan Houston took to Instagram to showcase several ultra-rare Nike Player Exclusives from his playing days, immediately capturing our attention in advance of the big ceremony. The longtime Knicks star, who currently serves as Vice President of Player Leadership and Development for the organization, remains one of the franchise’s most recognizable figures and is expected to participate in the championship celebration on some capacity.
Among the sneakers Houston shared were a remarkable collection of Knicks-themed PEs, including the Air Vis Zoom Uptempo, Air Flightposite One, Air Flightposite III, Shox Limitless, and the Huarache 2K4. None of these specific pairs were ever released to the public, having been created exclusively for Houston during his tenure as a Nike athlete.
Knicks fans are naturally wondering not which, but whether or not these are suitable for wear. Given their age, many of these sneakers may no longer be for the toe and will be at risk of crumbling or literally breaking apart. While we’d love to see these hit the Canyon of Heroes, maybe it’s better to stick with something a bit newer.
