032c began in 2000 in Berlin as a magazine founded by Joerg Koch, Sandra von Mayer-Myrtenhain, and Mike Meiré as a quarterly print publication at the intersection of contemporary art, German political theory, and avant-garde culture. The magazine grew through the 2000s and 2010s into one of Europe's most respected independent print platforms; the 032c Apparel line launched as a side project in 2015 and has since grown into a substantial menswear and unisex apparel brand. The 032c apparel vocabulary settled around several specific products: the Workshop hoodie (a heavyweight cotton hoodie with the magazine's masthead logo, available in shifting seasonal colours), the iconic Cosmic Workshop graphic tees, deconstructed tailoring in Italian fabrics, and the long-running 032c × Adidas GSG9 and Country collaborations. The apparel program is rooted in the magazine's editorial-image culture — campaigns are shot by the magazine's photographers, models are drawn from the magazine's editorial network, and the product references the magazine's archive of essays and image features. 032c remains independent and held by Koch as editor-in-chief.
